Sarah Swinford is Director of Loghaven Artist Residency in Knoxville, Tennessee. As Director, Sarah has launched Loghaven’s residency program with the core goal of providing transformative experiences for artists. She enjoys building enduring relationships that fully consider each resident as an important part of Loghaven’s mission. Prior to joining Loghaven, Sarah spent ten years working closely with artists on residencies, performances, and workshops at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. During her time there, she planned and implemented many long and short-term residencies, facilitated world premieres, and presented over three hundred unique performances. She has organized residencies with artists, including Young Jean Lee, the Bebe Miller Company, Ann Hamilton, Jason Moran, and Faye Driscoll. Sarah has also served on various grant panels, including most recently as a reader and panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts’ CARES Act Grant. She is passionate about helping artists make their creative visions a reality and feels strongly that artists and their work play an integral role in telling our histories, reflecting our realities, and envisioning our collective future.
