Sarah Swinford is Director of Loghaven Artist Residency in Knoxville, Tennessee. As Director, Sarah launched Loghaven’s residency program with the core goal of providing transformative and fully supportive experiences for artists. Sarah enjoys building enduring relationships that fully consider each resident as a vital part of Loghaven’s story. Loghaven has supported exceptional artists and their work since the residency’s launch in 2020. Past artist residents have included Jamel Brinkley, Ann Carlson, Cathy Linh Che, Mahwish Chishty, Nina Cooke John, Robert Hutchison, Joanna Kotze, Jennifer Wen Ma, Angélica Negrón, and Andrew Schneider, among others. Before joining Loghaven, Sarah spent ten years working closely with artists on residencies, performances, and workshops at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. Sarah has also served on various grant panels for organizations, including the New York Foundation for the Arts, United States Artists, National Endowment for the Arts, the Heinz Family Foundation, and the National Performance Network. She is passionate about helping artists make their creative visions a reality and strongly believes that artists and their work play an integral role in telling our histories, reflecting our realities, and envisioning our collective future.
