Loghaven is funded by the Aslan Foundation, a Knoxville-based philanthropy established in 1994 by city native Lindsay Young. The Aslan Foundation preserves beauty, advances livability, and supports cultural assets in the Knoxville area. Among Aslan’s grantees is the Big Ears Festival, a Loghaven Partner that the New York Times has hailed as a “music festival with a rare vision.” As it heads into its tenth year, Big Ears has undeniably made the case that experimental and avant-garde artistic work has a place in Knoxville. Loghaven Artist Residency complements and amplifies the “Big Ears effect” as it welcomes artists representing a variety of disciplines from around the country and the world to create work in Knoxville.
